My Mission

Should I Choose To Accept It

This is part of a parable Jesus told. Just like any good speaker, He gave us word pictures that help us understand the truth He was teaching. This story is about a manager who abused his authority. One of the truths Jesus illustrated was that if we are unfaithful with what little we’ve been given, we will be unfaithful if given more.

There are many avenues with which I could take this as it applies to so many areas of our lives, but what I really want to hone in on is what He said next, “If you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?” (Luke 16:11).

I work with people’s money. That’s my job and I use my way of making a living to open doors for me to help people with much more than just their worldly treasures. I care about people. My day job is to help people feel more confident in their financial decisions, to help make their finances healthy. My mission, should I choose to accept it will not be destroyed in 3 seconds. In fact, my true mission will not be destroyed even if they lose their wealth, their homes, their things, even their family. If I am successful, my clients will have eternal success.

How about you? What are you doing with your day job to ensure someone’s eternity? Are you being trustworthy with whatever you’ve been given? Maybe you’ve been given chance to be a good neighbor. Are you reaching out? As long as you have breath in your body you have the opportunity to be trustworthy, to be faithful with what you’ve been given.
